Dr. Seuss born Theodor Seuss Geisel is was a renowned American author and cartoonist. He is best known for penning classic children’s books such as The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Among Dr. Seuss’ trademarks are his colorful illustration, unique rhyming text, and memorable yet, outlandish characters.
Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield Massachusetts. He later went on to the attend Dartmouth College where he wrote for the Dartmouth Jack-O-Lantern, a college humor magazine. Later on Geisel met his future wife Helen Palmer while pursuing a Ph. D in literature at Oxford. He died on September 24, 1991 at the age of 87.
