Robert B. Parker

Robert B. Parker is an acclaimed American author of detective fiction.  Most of his work concerns aspects about human nature and he often integrates specific details about the Boston metropolitan area.  His most renowned works are the Spenser series.  In the 1980s ABC picked up the rights to the Spenser series and turned it into a television series called Spenser: for Hire.

Robert B. Parker grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts and then went on to attend Colby College.  He married his wife Joan in 1956 and they have two sons.  Robert Parker earned his Ph. D in English literature at Boston University in 1971.  He eventually became a full time professor at Northeastern University.   He and his wife current reside in Springfield, Massachusetts.
