Thomas Perry has written fifteen novels, and has enjoyed success ever since winning the Edgar for his first novel, The Butcher's Boy. Perry's books focus on conflict that tends to be more "mental than high tech, more strategy than physical strength." Perry's latest book, Silence, was well received by fans and critics, being dubbed "one of the best mysteries to be published this summer"Born in Tonawanda, New York, Perry, an avid reader, holds a degree from Cornell University and did his doctoral studies at the University of Rochester. Perry is married with two daughters and lives in Southern California. Perry has held a number of interesting jobs ranging from weapons mechanic, television writer, to a laborer and a commercial fisherman.
