Jeffery Deaver was born in 1950 near Chicago. He wrote his first book when he was eleven, and has been writing ever since. He has written twenty-two novels and two collections of short stories since he began writing full-time in 1990. Many of Jeffery's novels, including the most recent The Cold Moon, feature Lincoln Rhyme, the quadriplegic ex-head of NYPD forensics.
